Killshot

Killshot

Hey Satan! Can you make room for two more down below? Keep the fires stoked until these two murderous, sorry souls can be sent to your nonhuman resources department. That's the message of this tale of a half-breed Native American hitman, who killed for profit and convenient efficiency, and his admiring sidekick, who mimicked his hero at every opportunity.

I have never seen a more definitive chasm between good and evil as exhibited in "Killshot," excepting possibly "Schindler's List," or "Passion of the Christ." Mickey Roarke portrays the hitman, Armand "The Blackbird" Degas. He humanized the hitman as best he could, but when the moment of truth is pressed, a normal person does not harbor one scintilla of sympathy. His sidekick, Richie Nix played by Joseph Gordon - Levitt, just as ruthless, just less measured in his actions.

Their reign of terror begins when these two hook up when they attempt to extort 20,000.00 from a local real estate company. When their attempt is thwarted by a job applicant, former steel worker Wayne Colson, played by Thomas Jane, they elect to eliminate Colson and his real estate agent wife, Carmen, portrayed by Diane Lane, due to their witnessing their ill advised misdeed.

The film becomes a nightmare chase without end, with Rosario Dawson, thrown in to the mix as live-in lady friend, Donna, to these demented deviants for just a bit of context as to just how far these two criminals will go.

Director John Madden keeps the picture rocking with action and at 95 minutes of runtime, one should give this film a chance if you can stomach the evil nature of these two really bad guys.

Rated R. Released on DVD May 26, 2009.
