If you have to spend time in the doghouse, you might at least make it a more bearable experience.
Every married man knows that there are times when you get sent to the doghouse. It is the married man's equivalent to the time out chair. For many of us, that doghouse is usually the back porch or the garage.
I do not ever remember my parents arguing but I do remember my dad building a camp trailer after he retired. He and mom camped well into their late eighties.

When he was at home, He would hook the trailer up to the electric box he installed on the parking pad.
Sometimes, he would just announce, "I am going to the doghouse". My dad spent some time in the doghouse but I do not think it was punishment. He had a way of making the best of the cards he was dealt.
