Transporter 3 Jason Statham put his "butt-kicking" franchise on the line in "Transporter 3;" however, it was not enough to save this high energy, "low-brow" movie. Director Olivier Megaton got the action scenes right. The problem is: he got the rest of the movie wrong. The story and the dialogue were atrocious. And the acting outside of Statham was uninspiring at best. Screenwriters Luc Beeson and Robert Marc Kamen "phoned this one in, " which left the rest of us, that paid the price of a video rental, with the wrong number. This story of high speed action involving fast cars, fast fists and feet flying, and a trick bike saving Statham's alter ego, Richard Martin's "butt-kicking" butt, coupled with the intrigue of eco terrorism was a bit much to swallow, regardless of the bites afforded in this 104 minute movie. Me thinks the Transporter series, where the transporter Frank Martin will deliver any package regardless of its contents, is a bit long in the tooth. Me also thinks that Jason Statham should "just say no" to Transporter 4, and put this sick dog down. My rating of 1 3/4 stars out of a possible 5 breaks down as such: Jason Statham / action sequences - 3 1/4 stars, all other actors, including first timer, Natalya Rudakova as the love interest - 1 1/4 stars, story / screenplay - 3/4 stars. Rated PG13. Released on DVD March 10, 2009.
